Homegrown Jazz, WJO's last concert of the 2017-2018 season, was special--it featured the Waco Jazz Orchestra with saxophonist Mace Hibbard. Mace grew up in Waco; his father Dave was head of the MCC Commercial Music Program, WJO director Byron Swann was his high school band director, and he played with WJO in the early nineties. Now a prominent jazz educator and performer in Atlanta, Georgia, Mace was featured in a program including arrangements by WJO's own Dave Wild.
